The different models of FlexiWaggon

Standard wagon, Rescue wagon and Multipurpose wagon

FlexiWaggon with their flexible and unique features help every operator fulfill their obligations. For example rescue work can take place efficiently and the wagonset can be connected from either direction from the accident site. The FlexiWaggon SW©, RW© and MW© are always manufactured in accordance with relevant national safety regulations.

In addition to offering personnel an improved work environment, rescue work can be performed quickly and safely. A significant advantage is that it is much quicker to drive on and off rescue vehicles. For crane lorries, drivers can choose front unloading from the waggon onto the railbed or side unloading when the ground by the railway embankment can handle the vehicle’s weight. For example, the FlexiWaggon model SW© is recommended for ambulances needed for emergency transports. These wagons have side unloading ramps that also work with low vehicles, allowing unloading on the closest road for final transport to hospital.

The wagon set can be connected for maximum efficiency at the accident site. Mobile field hospitals, ambulances, fire engines and so on can be connected in the order best suited for the specific circumstances. FlexiWaggon RW© is also adapted for all-terrain vehicles, such as are needed for retrieval of goods.

It also saves time when repairing rail embankments, bridge railings, and other measures requiring excavation equipment and/or crane lorries. The standard FlexiWaggon RW© can handle crane lorry weights of up to 80 tonnes and lifting capacities of up to 220 tonnes.

SW © Standard Wagon – For transporting trucks, buses and cars by rail

  • Loadable length: 17.3 m. Load up to 52 tonnes. Load: Rails, upper-edge: 180-230 mm.
  • Control of launching, i.e. loading/unloading using button and remote controls.
  • The SW©version allows loading and unloading from the cradle holding the vehicle stands to the right and left sides of the track.
  • WCS – Wagon Control System. This system controls the wagon’s functions and prevents damage by monitoring for malfunctions on the wagon.
  • Shaft generators on the FlexiWaggon create energy (72 Kw) stored in the batteries located on the wagon.
We are not dependent on outside electrical power supplies from the railway infrastructure in any country.
  • Electrical outlets for 240/400V, 50-60 Hz.

Accessory Equipment

  • TCS (Train Control System): Receivers are located in the locomotive with the driver. Information is received from the WCS system, which monitors the wagon’s operation, wheel bearings, deviations in the braking system and other aspects of the wagon. With the TCS, the locomotive driver can control loading and unloading on one, multiple or all wagons in the train set at the same time.
  • Remote control: The wagon comes with either wireless or with wired controls for loading and unloading the cradle. The lorry driver, the locomotive driver or other authorized train personnel can work the controls. The remote control also simplifies work by maintenance and service personnel since they can control the cradle from a distance.
  • Wheel stock sensors: The sensor system discovers early overheating in the wheel stock and prevents malfunction.
  • Brake sensors: The sensor system registers when braking effect diminishes and brake components need replacing.

RW © Rescue Wagon - For rescuing operations

  • Loadable length: 17.3 m. Load up to 80 tonnes. Load: Rails, upper-edge: 180-230 mm.
  • Control of launching, i.e. loading/unloading using button and remote controls.
  • The RW©version allows loading and unloading from the cradle holding the vehicle stands to the front and back, and to the right and left sides of the track.
  • WCS – Wagon Control System. This system controls the wagon’s functions and prevents damage by monitoring for malfunctions on the wagon.
  • There are integrated poles for work site lighting.
  • Shaft generators create energy (72 Kw) stored in batteries on the wagon.
  • Electrical outlets for 240/400V, 50-60 Hz.

It also saves time when repairing rail embankments, bridge railings, and other measures requiring excavation equipment and/or crane lorries. These wagons have side offloading ramps that also work with low vehicles, allowing unloading onto the closest access road for final transport with ambulance to hospital. The train set can be connected from either direction for optimal efficiency. Mobile field hospitals, ambulances, fire engines, excavators, crawlers, all-terrain vehicles and other vehicles can be connected in the order that offers maximum time savings.

The standard FlexiWaggon RW© can handle crane lorry weights of up to 80 tonnes and lifting capacities of up to 220 tonnes.

MW © Multipurpose Wagon - For peacekeeping operations

  • Loadable length: 17.3 m. Load up to 80 tonnes. Load: Rails, upper-edge: 180-230 mm.
